About Lorna

Parent & Founder

I am a qualified massage and beauty therapist with 20 years hands-on experience. While living in Australia working as a massage therapist, I discovered prenatal massage and instantly fell in love with it. I completed my prenatal massage training in 2002.

In 2003 I returned to Ireland and my desire to delve into the benefits of massage continued and I trained in baby massage in 2010. Having worked with many parents and babies over the years (and becoming a mom of 2 children myself) I seen first-hand the many wonderful benefits of massage. Benefits include improved calmness and sleep patterns in babies, pain relief from colic, reflux and constipation and also deep relaxation and awareness for the parent thus strengthening the parent-baby bond. My sense of the importance of nurturing touch grew.

Hence in 2017, I went on to train in The Massage for School Program which is aimed at children aged between 4-12 (with adaptations for 2-3-year olds). It has been unequivocally proven through research studies that regular nurturing touch is a developmental need in children and this program aims to provide this in schools, nurseries, community groups and families. Benefits include increased concentration, calmness, well-being and creativity while also reducing bullying. The massage routine is taught to paired children and practiced through the clothes on the back, arms, shoulders and head.

In 2019 I trained in the new Story Massage Program which offers a simple, fun and interactive way of sharing the benefits of positive touch with babies and children. In addition to this I developed a program which course includes the ten simple massage movements combined with nursery rhymes, songs and sensory play.

I credit massage with amazing benefits for the body and soul at any age. It is wonderful to see the benefits of massage before your eyes as a baby, child or adult learn to relax and let go of stress or tension within the body. My passion is helping people to feel good about themselves and I’m a firm believer that what we put on our skin, goes into our bodies therefore recommends using organic products.
